1. What is the process for registration a Will?

  1. Will - A Legal document that plays a key role in the distribution of one’s assets in the event of their death.
  2. Keeping a will in advance is a healthy practice. This is often overlooked as many people do not have a will or outdated information.
  3. In India, it is not necessary to register a will, but it is always advantageous to register it with the Sub-Registrar
  4. A Will can be signed by the testator in presence of two witnesses
  5. After the Will is signed, it can be registered anytime during the lifetime of the testator.
  6. It will be registered at the Registrar’s office near the residence of the testator.
  7. There is no stamp duty for a Will. The testator has to personally visit the Registrar’s office along with the executor and two witnesses. Once you have the Will ready, we have to book a slot at the registrar’s office.

At the registrar’s office, KYC verification will be done and post that, the document will be sealed & signed by the registrar. You can collect the document after scanning by the registrar’s office or you can deposit the will at the office for safe keeping.

 

 

2. What is Jantri?

Jantri, also known as the Gujarat Land Valuation Certificate, determines land and property rates set by the government for calculating stamp duty and registration charges. It's a crucial reference for buyers and sellers in real estate.

3. Important points to take into consideration at the time of buying and selling of Land.

4. Weather the unlawful   entries made in the land revenue record can be challenged   at any time   without    limitation of period under limitation Act?  Is there any provision to relax the limitation period under the law?
